Nintendo Switch Mystery Game Listings Appear on Amazon

Posted January 03, 2018

In a similar fashion, it is only recently that Overcooked: Special Edition for the Nintendo Switch is getting a physical release on Amazon despite being on the eShop for many months now, but it is routine for developers to deliver an all-in-one edition of their game when they release on a platform months after release. Kimishima also spoke briefly on the console's issues being kept in stock at the various retailers that have difficulty keeping it available for eager Switch faithful. We haven't announced anything for Switch following Wolfenstein II in 2018, but if and when we do, we will let you know.

Unsurprisingly, the Nintendo Switch was also the best-selling console of the year on Amazon, despite issues with supply earlier in 2017.

"That being said, when we were first presented with the Switch concept and some of the key games coming for it, I think a lot of folks who have been in the industry for a while, we all kind of felt, 'Oh, we've got a victor here'". Ubisoft's strategy game Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and the unique fighting game Arms were high on the list, and Nintendo fans haven't abandoned their 3DS systems just yet, either - Metroid: Samus Returns had stronger sales on Amazon than Assassin's Creed Origins and was just behind the surprise hit Nier: Automata. Other Nintendo games in the top 10 include Splatoon 2, Pokémon Ultra Sun, Pokémon Ultra Moon, and the Wii U version of Breath of the Wild.

With the sales targets Nintendo is hoping for, it certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility that a whole 20 million more Switch units could be moved for the next fiscal year. Now, right at the start of the year, hackers have managed to figure out how to get access to the Switch's kernel, paving the way for future homebrew software. It is priced at $300.
