New Overwatch Character "Moira" Revealed at BlizzCon 2017, No Release Yet

Posted November 04, 2017

The official Overwatch website lists her as Moira O'Deorain, aged 48 and a Geneticist by occupation.

Overwatch is a big deal at Blizzard 2017 and the development team revealed the new content coming to the shooter.

However, the reveal trailer has shown that she apparently has ties to both Talon and Reaper, and is possibly the person who stitched Gabriel Reyes back together to create the smokey, psychotic killer that Reaper is today.

The new hero, Moira, will be a support hero with the ability to switch and synergize between healing and dealing damage. It's not entirely clear how her abilities work, but it seems that she will function kind of like Zenyatta in that players will need to swap between damage and healing. The new hero, called Moira, is the 26th playable character to be added to the game.

On top of Moira's announcement, we get another real treat, in the form of "Honor and Glory, " a brand new animated short starring Reinhardt, and showing a glimpse on his past. Her right hand fires a long-range beam weapon that saps enemies' health, healing Moira and replenishing her biotic energy. Using her left hand, she can give out biotic energy and heal allies that stand in front of her.

Fade - Moira quickly teleports a short distance. Her ultimate ability, Coalescence, lets her unleash a beam that will heal any allies caught in it, or deal damage to any foes caught inside of it.

Blizzard has unveiled a new character on its way to Overwatch, followed by a new map based on a Blizzard theme park. Overwatch's Jeff Kaplan said it's a hybrid map - having both assault and payload elements.
