The eastern branch of the Writers Guild of America says it will take steps to make it easier for women to report sexual harassment and assault.
After a report in The New York Times last week detailing some of the accusations, the board of Weinstein's own film studio, The Weinstein Co., fired him Sunday. At least three women who spoke to the New Yorker said they had been raped by Weinstein, who has maintained that he believed all the encounters were consensual.
To address any lingering concern about Harvey Weinstein's behaviour, Maerov said he successfully pushed a new code of conduct at the company that included a detailed description of sexual harassment. "After declining alcohol and announcing that I had school in the morning I left, uneasy but unscathed", Beckinsale said in her post. Weinstein "terrified me, and he was so big", she said.
We've seen jokes in 30 Rock and at Oscars announcements deal with misconduct on Weinstein's part, but the most direct reference came from an actual victim, Asia Argento. He then asked whether she felt it was a conflict to be his nanny while pursuing an acting career and smirked when he asked whether she would "flirt" with his friends to get ahead. "He received a phone call the next day saying he would never work in another Miramax film", she said, adding that the young actress had "already been sleeping with Harvey and had told him that my friend had warned her".
Police spokesman Peter Donald said Thursday that investigators are reviewing police files to see if any women previously reported being assaulted or harassed by the media mogul.More news: Sri Lanka target landmark series win over Pakistan

David Boies, a lawyer who represented Harvey Weinstein when his contract was up for renewal in 2015, said in an interview that the board and the company were made aware at the time of three or four confidential settlements with women.
One of the most shocking elements of the Harvey Weinstein story that is continuously unfolding this week is that his alleged abuses had been staring everyone in the face for years.
"We women knew men were gross since our sixth grade gym teacher said "good job" at the end of class and rubbed our shoulders that were somehow on the front of our bodies", she explained.
"Guys, I'm not doing OK, but I'm trying", he said outside of his daughter's Los Angeles home in a video licensed by NBC News. "You know, what? We all make mistakes".
Then, addressing Weinstein saying the culture of the '60s and '70s of which he grew up in led to his toxic behavior, Bee exclaimed, "Oh give me a break, white Cosby!" "Our thoughts go out the victims, to those who have had the courage to testify and to all the others".
