Serious charges of sedition, waging war and inciting people for violence has been slammed on Honeypreet. However, she didn't disclose her location where she has been hiding for more than a month. His rape conviction led to violence in Panchkula and Sirsa in Haryana, leaving 38 people dead and 264 injured.
Haryana Police's IG, law and order, AS Chawla, said that Honeypreet was arrested by Haryana Police on Patiala Road after they were tipped off about she travelling in a Toyota Innova vehicle. Both of them were being questioned.

While she has been traced, Honeypreet is yet to surrender.
She was arrested from the Zirkapur-Patiala highway in Punjab while travelling in a Toyota Innova, along with a woman associate, a senior police official said.
He said the information was being verified. "There was no question of the Punjab police taking Honeypreet into custody as there was no criminal case registered against her in the state, nor was she in any wanted list", said the spokesperson. "We don't know where she is", said AS Chawla, police chief of Panchkula, where she was expected to show up.

Asked whether the Haryana Police got the information about the accused's movements from their Punjab counterparts, Chawla said, "At this moment, I can not share what all intelligence inputs we had or who all supported us". She was later handed over to the Panchkula police (Haryana Police) by Mohali police (Punjab police).
"I was completely shaken to hear such serious charges when in my life I have not even killed an ant", she said. Cops are now tracing individuals who may have provided Honeypreet shelter since the jailing of Gurmeet.
Honeypreet alias Priyanka Taneja told India Today, "There is a pious relation between my father and me. Now I will go to Punjab and Haryana high court". For quite sometime now, Haryana police also issued a lookout notice for Honeypreet.
Speaking on the allegations levelled by her ex-husband Vishwas Gupta that her adoption by Ram Rahim was just eyewash and she was having a sexual relationship with him, Honeypreet expressed shock over it. Police had been searching for her from the day her father was sentenced 20 years jail.
After August 25, Honeypreet had remained untraceable.
On September 26, the Delhi High Court had dismissed Honeypreet's transit anticipatory bail plea. She will be produced before a court Wednesday.
