"Well, after President Trump was criticized for a bad response to Hurricane Maria, this morning he gave the people of Puerto Rico what they needed most: a bunch of tweets straight-up calling them lazy", he joked. The season 43 premiere kicked off with a fresh skewering of the president, starting with his response to the devastation in Puerto Rico and ensuing feud with San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz. Trump on Saturday blasted her and those in the territory, whom he said "want everything to be done for them". While increasing amounts of water, food and medicine has been arriving on the island of 3.4 million people as a distribution bottleneck eases, many - particularly in remote and mountainous areas - remain desperate for water and other necessities.

The president is scheduled to travel to Puerto Rico on Tuesday after Hurricanes Maria, Harvey and Irma tore through the region in the last two months. "Wait, you do know we're a USA territory don't you?"
