Ty Montgomery is listed as day-to-day with a rib injury and could play in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Montgomery left after Green Bay's first offensive series against the Bears and didn't return.
Jones was impressive over the summer, but it took injuries to Montgomery and Williams for him to finally get an opportunity. Williams carried four times for 11 yards and did not look as explosive as Jones, nor did he create as much for himself.More news: Former Volkswagen chief engineer arrested for dieselgate

Jones finished the evening with 49 rushing yards on 13 carries. After all, the Packers are still going to throw the ball plenty with Aaron Rodgers under center, and Williams probably won't dominate the ball right away. Green Bay saw both Ty Montgomery and Jamaal Williams go down with injuries and miss a large portion of the game. Receiving a glowing review of his first National Football League action from Rodgers shows a lot about the young running back. But even a torn ligament in his ankle that cost him a decent chunk of time couldn't keep him from racking up over 4,000 career rushing yards for the Miners, creating a lengthy highlight reel along the way.
While the fifth-round pick from UTEP doesn't scream season-shifting waiver-wire addition, the opportunity for regular work will be there if Williams is out along with Montgomery.
Green Bay felt confident enough in his improvement at the position that it installed him as its lead back for 2017, with just a pair of rookie rushers behind him.
