Dwyane Wade and Pat Riley Still Have 'Fractured' Relationship

Posted September 26, 2017

Dwyane Wade and the Chicago Bulls have reached an agreement on a buyout on the final year of Wade's contract, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.

With Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony in Oklahoma City, the Thunder can make a compelling pitch, too.

The interest surrounding Wade and his ability to contribute meaningful minutes is quite high for a 35-year-old.

Talks between the two sides about a resolution intensified ahead of Monday's start of training camp, according to ESPN.

Wade averaged 18 points through 60 games a year ago. "The only thing I was upset about was he took a lot of the DNA and blueprint with him". He brings another playmaker to the team who can get guys involved, and make plays, and also just has a great basketball mind.

Wade was bought out of his contact with the Chicago Bulls earlier on Sunday. The team has a hole at shooting guard and other superstars to court Wade.

That's because of the presence of LeBron James, Wade's good friend and former running mate in Miami.

Clearly, there are still some hurdles that need to be cleared for Wade to reunite with the Heat.

Dwyane Wade may have been one of the star players of the Miami Heat team that beat the San Antonio Spurs in the 2013 championship (yes, it still hurts), but that hasn't blacklisted him from possibly joining the Silver and Black team.

It seems as though a reunion with James in Cleveland is the most likely scenario.

After trading two players for Anthony, Oklahoma City has a roster spot open. The Spurs' ball movement has the best chance of maximizing Wade's ability as a cutter and would highlight his passing and decision-making in ways we haven't seen since the Big Three at its peak. James and Wade shared four seasons together thriving in South Beach and many offseason with each other's families.
