Since Jon is not, indeed, a bastard, he is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, a position which Dany has be eyeing since Season 1. In this case, HBO worked with digital effects studio The Mill on an animated mask for the season finale of "Game of Thrones" this Sunday. And it explains everything that's wrong with episode 6. You'd think they would at least try to cross a few at a time.
Last week's episode made the hierarchy of the undead army explicit. Watch the video again (if your heart can take it): the White Walker lieutenant calmly hands the Night King the ice javelin the moment the dragons arrive and start wreaking havoc - which suggests they were saving them for that exact moment. With the power to freeze things with a touch, they are incredibly hard to kill - but can be destroyed by dragonglass and Valyrian steel.
I'd guess this aspect of their mission was planned and discussed, but the scene was either cut or never filmed. or the writers just assumed we'd put it together ourselves. If so, did he then create the other White Walkers the way he turned Craster's son into one? Now that we know the Night King has a limitless Home Depot credit card, maybe the giant chains he got there to pull Viserion from the lake can be used to go over the Wall.
The Night King might be a lot worse ― and a lot more powerful ― than we thought. Now that Bran Stark is the Three Eyed Raven, he can travel through time - and as we saw in season six, he can be seen and heard in whichever time he has travelled to. Something about that interaction destroyed the magical protection of that tree, and it all happened because Bran was up against a mental opponent whose powers he neither understood nor planned for.
What if the Night King, one of the First Men, was a Stark - and what if killing him to magically wipe out all of his creations/descendants/ followers will also wipe out all of the remaining Starks (Sansa, Arya, Bran and Jon, whose mother was Lyanna Stark)?More news: Thousands stuck on cruise ships after Hurricane Harvey

The Night King's "mark" on Bran still works, so the White Walkers can pass through already.. It makes a lot of sense story-wise, especially the part where Bran has been completely useless this season.
Anyway, if the Night King can see into the future, even partially, things are going to get really tricky, really quickly.
Before the episode's big battle, Jon and his men have a short fight with a small group of wights led by a White Walker. The Night King, or someone under his control, created that particular wight and hid it among the rest.
