A new photo of Princess Charlotte enjoys the countryside, Kate Middleton announced shortly before her second birthday.

The new official photograph of Princess Charlotte.

The photograph was taken in April by the Duchess at their home in Norfolk.

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge will be celebrating the second birthday of their second-born child, Princess Charlotte, tomorrow.

The Duke and Duchess - William and Catherine (Kate) - along with Prince Harry all have the day off official Royal engagements, although the Duke of Edinburgh, Princess Charlotte's great-grandfather, will be hosting a lunch reception at Buckingham Palace.

In the image, Charlotte is wearing a knitted yellow cardigan with sheep on and a navy blue clip in her hair.

She is also known as Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

Kensington Palace might not share every detail of the royal family's lives with us, but when they decide to grace us with a new picture, they don't disappoint! Her big day comes after a public holiday for May Day in the U.K, so her family and friends will have no trouble getting time off to help the royal family toast the little one. Happy almost-birthday, Princess Charlotte!

"They've got everything any child could ever want and - unusually for the Windsors- they've got two parents who completely and utterly dote on them", the palace insider explained.

Apparently, some are already feting the little princess, who will be a bridesmaid in her aunt Pippa's wedding later this month.

Princess Charlotte's life spans just two years, but what a remarkable life it is. Many royal fans are pointing out that she even looks just like her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, in the pic!

Although her parents have kept the toddler out of the visible spotlight as much as possible, the young princess has made several public appearances recently.

George will be schooled at the private Thomas's Battersea school in September and it is likely his sister will be sent to a nursery later this year.
