Native American demonstrators gather near Hermitage ahead of Trump's visit

During the presidential campaign, Trump constantly held rallies all across the country, and his campaign became defined by these events, during which the then Republican candidate often spoke without the use of a script.

Mayor Megan Barry will also attend the event at the Hermitage after being invited by the Andrew Jackson Foundation. Jackson, who led the US between 1829 and 1837, was born in SC but is buried in Nashville, where he owned a plantation called The Hermitage. However, this showed very little other than the fact that Trump made a lot of money in 2005 and paid the taxes that were legally required of him. The sixth president was America's first populist head of state, and many (including Trump advisor Steve Bannon) have argued that Trump is following in his footsteps.

After stopping at the Hermitage, Trump was due to address his fans at the auditorium.
